SECTION 6 INSTALLATION (OPTIONS)
This section outlines the installation of various options for the RI-300 and RI-310.

TEMPERATURE SENSOR

The RI-300 is designed to use a LM335 solid-state temperature sensor. This sensor has a range of -17°C to +85°C (+2°F to
+185°F. You can purchase a sensor and cable assembly from Pacific Research or build one of your own. See the following
diagram.
Plug the temperature sensor cable assembly into the connector labeled "Temp" on the RI-300 or RI-310. Next to the temp
connector is an adjustment that can be used to calibrate the temperature. You will need a reference temperature for this
calibration. Do not mount the sensor to the TX heat sink for calibration.
After the sensor's temperature has stabilized:
1. Unlock the controller.
2. Send S-Command 30*12 and the controller will read back the temperature.
3. If an error in the temperature is detected adjust the calibration potentiometer up or down, about 1/4 turn per 1°F
4. Repeat step 2 and 3 until the controller reads the correct temperature.
