Protecting a disc

This is for protecting discs (write protection) when they are being ejected from this unit to prevent them from being formatted if they are inserted in other devices.

Discs protected using this unit cannot be edited or used to record on other devices, but they can be used in the same way as unprotected discs with this unit.

≥After disc writing operations (recording motion pictures, editing, finalizing, un-finalizing, creating a top menu and deleting a top menu), the disc is protected when [AUTO PROTECT] is [ON], and it is not protected when [AUTO PROTECT] is [OFF].

≥When the protected disc is ejected, “WRITE PROTECTED DISC-CANNOT BE RECORDED BY OTHER DEVICES.” appears on the screen.
