21Manual backgroundUsing the XM tuner

You can use the navigation system to control an XM satellite digital tuner, which is sold se- parately.

For details concerning operation, refer to the XM tuner’s operation manuals. This section provides information on XM operations with the navigation system which differs from that described in the XM tuner’s operation man- ual.

Reading the screen

Channel mode

Category mode

1Source icon

Shows which source has been selected.

2Text display area

!Band

Shows the XM band that has been se- lected.

!Channel number indicated next to “CH”

Shows the XM channel number the tuner is currently tuned to.

!Preset number indicated next to “P.CH”

Shows what preset item has been se- lected.

!Detail information

Shows the detailed information of the broadcast channel currently being re- ceived.

!Manual background: Artist name

Shows the artist name for the current song.

!Manual background: Song title

Shows the title of the current song and program.

!Manual background: Category name

Shows the category of broadcast chan- nel.

3XM channel select mode indicator Shows what channel select mode has been selected. You can select a channel from all channels in Channel mode, and select a channel from selected category in Category mode.

Recalls channels from the preset.
