Using the AUX source
Upto two auxiliar y devices such as VCR or
portabledevices (sold separately) can be con-
nectedto this unit. When connected, auxiliar y
devicesare automatically read as AUX sources
andassigned to AUX1 or AUX2. The relation-
shipbetween AUX1 and AUX2 sources is ex-
plainedbelow.

About AUX1 and AUX2

Thereare two methods to connect auxiliar y de-
vicesto this unit.

AUX1 source:

Whenconnecting auxiliar y device using a stereo
miniplug cable
%Insertthe stereo mini plug intothe
inputjack on this unit.
Formore details, refer to the installation man-
ual.
Thisauxiliary device isautomatically set to
AUX1.

AUX2 source:

Whenconnecting auxiliar y device using an IP-
BUS-RCAInterconnector (sold separately)
%Usean IP-BUS-RCA Interconnector such
asthe CD-RB20/CD-RB10 (sold separetely)
toconnect this unit to auxiliary device fea-
turingRCA output.

Thisauxiliary device isautomatically set to
AUX2.
#Youcan only make this type of connection if
theauxiliary device has RCA outputs.

Selecting AUX as the source

%PressSRC to select AUX as the source.
#Ifthe auxiliary setting is not turned on, AUX
cannotbe selected. For more details, see Switch-
ingthe auxiliary setting on page 47.

Setting the AUX title

Thetitle displayed for the AUX1 or AUX2
sourcecan be changed.
1 Afteryou have selected AUX as the
source,use MULTI-CONTROL and select
FUNCTIONto display TITLE INPUT.
2 Entera title in the same way as the
built-inCD player.

Using the external unit
Externalunit refers to a Pioneer product (such
asones available in the future) that, although
incompatibleas a source, enables control of
basicfunctions with this unit. Two external
unitscan be controlled with this unit. When
twoexternal units are connected, the external
unitis automatically allocated to external unit
1or external unit 2 by this unit.
Basicoperations of the external unit are ex-
plainedbelow. Allocated functions are differ-
entdepending on the connected external unit.
