Specifying a Destination

When using a gatekeeper/SIP server

From IP-Fax to IP-Fax

Specify the alias telephone number of the receiving ma- chine.

Example: 0311119999 (alias tele- phone number)

Example: 9999 (ID number)

From IP-Fax to G3 fax

Specify the G3 fax telephone number of the receiving ma- chine.

Example) 0312345678

Note

When you enter a destination via a gateway (G3 fax connected to the public telephone line, etc.) into the Address Book or Destination List, you must specify its terminal tele- phone number. In case of transmit- ting to G3 Fax using IP-Fax, and when you are not using the SIP server/gatekeeper, it is necessary to register the gateways. See p.148 “IP-Fax Settings”, Facsimile Refer- ence <Advanced Features> .

When you specify a destination with IP-Fax, depending on the re- ceiver’s network configuration, you may need to specify the IP ad- dress and number of the receiving machine. For example, if the re- ceiver’s IP address is “192.168. 1.10” and the port number is “2100”, specify “192.168.1.10: 2100”. Ask the network adminis- trator for details.

When you specify a host name, de- pending on the receiver’s network configuration, you may need to specify the host name and port number of the receiving machine. For example, if the receiver’s host name is “tokyo.abc.co.jp”and the port number is “2100”, specify “to- kyo.abc.co.jp”. Ask the network administrator for details.

An alias telephone number is a tel- ephone number available in the network registered in the gate- keeper.

Pay attention to the number of tel- ephone number digits set in the

gateway/IP-address conversion

table to avoid transmission error.

Registering Entered Destinations to the Address Book

You can register a fax number, e-mail address, or IP-Fax destination to the Address Book.

When registering a destination directly entered or displayed on the Redial screen in the Address Book, [ProgDest] appears in the destination field.

See “Fax Destination” and “E-mail

Destination”, General Settings Guide.

Note

Depending on security settings, [ProgDest] may not be displayed, and not be registered.

When you press the {Facsimile} key after changing the contents of the Address Book, the “Destina- tion list/machine settings are up- dated. Selected destination or function settings have been cleared. Please reselect the set- tings.” message appears. Press [Ex- it]. The standby display appears.
