Optical Encoder Operation

The Roborun utility provides many facilities for configuring and testing the Optical Encoder module contained in the AX2850. These are described in detail in “Encoder Testing and Setting Using the PC Utility” on page 150

Running the Motors

The Roborun utility will let you exercise and monitor the motors, sensors and actuators using your computer. This feature is particularly useful during development as you will be able to visualize, in real-time, the robot’s Amps consumption and other vital statistics dur- ing actual operating conditions.

Figure 99 shows the Run Screen and its numerous buttons and dials.
