•If a

•When you set a
•Some playback operations of DVDs may be intentionally fixed by software produc- ers. Since this unit plays DVDs according to the disc contents the software produc- ers designed, some playback features may not be available. Also refer to the instruc- tions supplied with the DVDs.
•A menu screen may appear on the TV screen, if the disc has a menu feature. In this case, press [], [

], [ENTER] or [PLAY] to operate a menu feature. (The menu screen may not be displayed, de- pending on the disc’s specifications.)
Important Note:
“ ” may appear on the TV screen during operation. This icon means that the function is not available on the disc now.
1 Press [/ON].
The power comes on with the TV screen displayed. The STANDBY indicator turns off.
•Every time you turn on the power, it goes to TV mode and the TV screen is displayed.
2 Press [FUNCTION] on the unit or on the remote control to select the DVD mode.
Each time you press the button, the screen will change as follows.

DVD mode
TV
mode...
Once you select the DVD mode, “SANYO” is displayed on the screen.
•It may take a few moments when switching from an external input mode to the DVD mode.
3 Press [DISC OPEN] to open the disc tray on the unit and pull the tray toward you.
After pressing the button to open the disc, and after the symbol “” stops flashing on the screen, the disc tray will open a bit, so open the disc tray further towards you.

Hold the disc, position it with the |
printed label side up, align it with the guides, and place it in its proper position.
5 | Push the disc tray to close. |
On the screen, “ ” changes to “Reading” and then play- |
back will commence.
Reading

•Press [PLAY] for CDs to start playback.
•Some discs may not start automatically, depending on the disc.
•If it is an Audio CD, the status display (page E33) is displayed.
•If it is an MP3/WMA/JPEG CD, the file menu (page E18) is displayed.
•If it is a KODAK Picture CD, the thumbnail pictures (page E19) are displayed.
6 You can adjust the volume by pressing [VOLUME] +/– on the unit or on the remote control.
