Section 2. Installation

SENSORS

The M-84PRO printers contain three sensing units; a Ribbon End motion sensor, a Head Open micro- switch and a Label Indexing Sensor.

RIBBON END SENSOR Detect motion of the Ribbon Supply Spindle and signals the printer

 

when it is turning.

HEAD OPEN SENSOR

A micro-switch that is activated when the head is unlatched.

LABEL INDEXING SENSOR

The sensing assembly contains two types of sensors, one for label gap

 

and one for eye-mark sensing. The sensors are adjustable over a

 

limited range.

Label Gap

The range of sensor adjustment can be increased to allow the Gap sensor to be positioned as close as 3 mm from the inside label edge. Contact SATO for information on how to make this modification.
