2.9. airClient TOTAL Bridge Configuration (sB3416-03 only)

This section is only valid for the sB3416-03 model.

The sB3416-03 can be configured in both WDS and non-WDS modes, while in Bridge Mode. In WDS mode, 3416 functions as a transparent bridge. In non-WDS client bridge mode, 3416 can be configured for both non-transparent and transparent bridging.

This section covers the configuration of the sB3416-03 in all possible bridge modes.

2.9.1.WDS Bridge Mode

Wireless Distribution System (WDS) is a system that provides a means to extend the range of Wireless Local Area Network. To create a WDS link, peer MAC addresses need to be exchanged and all stations in WDS should be configured to use the same radio channel and configured to use the same WEP keys, if they are used.

The sB3416-03 can be configured to operate in the WDS Bridge Mode. The airClient TOTAL in WDS Bridge mode can associate only with a smartBridges airPoint access point in bridge mode, as they both use WDS link implementation.

Find below all the settings that need to be done in WDS Bridge Mode –
