STACKING SWITCHES

Stacking Switches

The switch supports stacking up to eight units through an optional SFP stacking transceiver. Each stacking connection provides a 2 Gbps high-speed link using USB stacking cables. The stacking transceiver must be installed in the port 25 SFP slot. Each stacking transceiver has two connectors, Tx and Rx, for attaching stacking cables. Figure 3-7shows how stacking cables are connected between switches in a stack.

Note: The stacking transceiver must only be installed in the port 25 SFP slot.

Installing a Stacking Transceiver

The stacking transceiver must be installed in the port 25 slot. It should be inserted before any of the systems in the stack are powered on.
