Settings and Adjustment
To change the rating level
1Select “Rating” on the setup menu, then
press c.
2Enter the password using the number
buttons, then press ENTER.
3Change the rating level, then press ENTER
(see page 42).
To change the password
1Select “Password” on the setup menu, then
press c.
2Enter the password using the number
buttons, then press ENTER.
3Select “Change”, then press ENTER.
4Follow steps 3 and 4 of “Setting the
Password” on the 42 page.
To clear the password
1Select “Password” on the setup menu, then
press c.
2Enter the password using the number
buttons, then press ENTER.
3Select “Clear”, then press ENTER.
If you forget your 4-digit password
1Select “Password” on the setup menu.
2Enter the 6-digit number “210499” and
press ENTER. The 4-digit password that
you entered is cleared.
Selecting TV Aspect
Select the appropriate screen type of your
TV: conventional size screen (4:3) or wide-
screen (16:9).
1Follow steps 1 and 2 of “Selection
of initial settings” on page 40.
The setup menu is displayed.
2Press X/x to select “TV Aspect”.
3Press c and then press X/x to
select the desired restriction level
and press ENTER.

Depending on the DVD, “4:3 Letterbox” may be
selected automatically instead of “4:3 Panscan” or
vice versa.

Select this when you connect a
4:3 screen TV. Displays a wide
picture with bands on the upper
and lower portions of the screen.
Select this when you connect a
4:3 screen TV. Automatically
displays the wide picture on the
entire screen and cuts off the
portions that do not fit.
Select this when you connect a
wide-screen TV or a TV with a
wide mode function.
