(3)Measure the insulation across one of the sol- dered terminals of the rotor and the core. (Fig.2-6)

If insulation is bad, replace rotor with a new one.

2-2 AC VOLTAGE IS TOO HIGH OR TOO LOW

2-2-1 CHECKING ENGINE SPEED

If the engine speed is too high or too low, adjust it to the rated r.p.m.

*Loosen the lock nut on the adjusting screw.

*Turn the adjusting screw clockwise to decrease engine speed or counterclockwise to increase engine speed.

Normal engine speed at no load

3700 to 3750 rpm

Check condenser referring to Step 2-1-1.

2-2-3 CHECKING STATOR

Check stator referring to Step 2-1-2.

2-2-4 CHECKING ROTOR

Check rotor referring to Step 2-1-3.
