3.Plug one end of the fiber-optic cable into the SFP transceiver.

4.Plug the other end of the fiber-optic cable into one of the HBAs in the host (direct topology) or into a switch (fabric topology).

5.Affix a label to each end of the cable. See “Host Cable Labeling” on page 59 for labeling tips.

6.Repeat these steps for each host-to-controller connection.

Connecting Data Hosts to the 2530 Array

Data transmission from the host to the controllers in the array module is through Serial Attached SCSI (SAS) cables. All connections from the host to the controllers are direct connections (with no intermediate switches). FIGURE 3-8shows an example of a direct host connection from a single data host with dual HBAs.
