7.1 Preparing to Configure the Server
Toperform the initial configuration of the Sun Fire V120 or Netra 120 server, set up
a serial connection using the port labeled Serial A/LOM on the server’s back panel
(see Chapter 6).Make sure you have the server ’s power cord(s) connected (see
Chapter 6).

7.1.1 Using a Terminal Server

Toaccess the Sun Fire V120 or Netra 120 server from a Sun workstation through a
terminal server, open a terminal session on the Sun workstation and type:

whose IP address is 192.20.30.10, you would type:

Toaccess the server from a dumb terminal, set up a connection between the
terminal and the server.
Toaccess the server from a Sun workstation that is directly connected to the
server,set up the connections between the devices, then open a terminal session
