G HDMI video/audio output terminal
Use a commercially available HDMI cable to connect the unit to a
HDMI compatible TV or monitor.
< If the TV or moni tor i s eq uipped only wit h a DVI termi nal, a
suitable adaptor cable or adaptors should be used. Note that the
TV connected in this way must be HDCP compatible.
Also note that this connection outputs n o sound.
< Make sure that you read and u nderstand the docum entation
provided with the HDMI component.

To output audio from the HDMI terminal
If the connected HDMI component is capable of input ting HDMI
audio, digital audio can be output from the HDMI terminal.
< Select “ALL” or “PCM only” in the DIGITAL AUDIO SETUP (page 39).
< To enjo y the digit al surrou nd audio f rom DVD- Video di scs,
connect the HDMI terminal to a surround a mplifier and set the
DIGITAL AUDIO SETUP to “ALL” (page 39).
< Adjust the v ideo aspect ratio to match that of the TV (page 38).
< T his u nit a dopts analog copy protect ion fe atures. If the u nit is
connected to a TV through a VCR (video cassette recorder), the
resulting playback may be affected. Connect the u nit directly to
the TV.
< I n all cases, use t he highes t qualit y cabl es for the best possible
picture.
< S elect proper setting in the VIDEO OUTPUT setup (page 40).
E Component video output terminals
Use commercially available component video cab les to connect
the unit to the component video inputs of a suitably equipped
TV or monitor to enjoy a high-quality picture.
Use these te rmi nals in pre fer ence to com pos ite vi deo
connections.
< If the component video terminals are conne cted to a TV with
progressive scan capabilities, the output can be set to match this
(page 40).
< Note that these terminals cannot be connected to high definition
component terminals.
F Composite video output terminal
Use a commercially availab le RCA (pin) vi deo cable to con nect
the unit to the composite video connector of a TV or monitor.
Use this connection only if no other video connection method is
available.
