60 Accessing to The Digital Receiver

9.2.1 WLAN status

A service set identifier (SSID) is a sequence of characters that uniquely names a wireless local area network. SSID shows the network accessed by the digital receiver at the present.

There are two modes for Network type. One is infrastructure mode and the other is ad-hoc mode. Infrastucture mode al- lows a wirelss LAN to be integrated into an existing wired network through an access point (AP). Ad-hocs mode is used for a simple peer-to-peer network. This mode only allows the sharing of local resources between wireless clients without an AP.

TX Rate shows the transfer rate between the digital receiver and the AP or other wireless clients.

Channel is automatically assigned to if Network Type is set to Infratstructure.

Security shows the encryption type specified.

IP Address, Subnet Mask and Gateway show the network in- fromation specified.

MAC Address shows the media access control address of the digital receiver.
