In case of transmission problems, this function is very helpfull. Check dialling by this method allows you to detect wrong numbers and busy parties also.

With the listening-in alternative, the document is not read into

the memory; it is retained on the tray until the receiving fax machine has been contacted.

Dialling starts

If another fax machine can be heard (beep)

Confirm with START

The connection is established (for procedure, see page 30, Automatic fax transmission).

If no connection is established, press the STOP key to disconnect the fax machine from the line.
