SETTING THE BASE ADDRESS
The base address of the SVM2608 is determined by using the offset value (OV), set by two rotary switches located on the top edge of the interface card (Figure 2-1), and multiplying it by 224 (or 16,777,216) to get the base address in A32 address space. The switches are labeled with positions 0 through F. The switch located at S3 corresponds to the Most Significant Bit (MSB) and S2 corresponds to the Least Significant Bit (LSB). (Note, S1 is not used in the determination of the base address.) To set the OV to 25, first convert the decimal number to the hexadecimal value of 0x19. Next, set switch S3 to 1, and then set switch S2 to 9. See Figure 2-2.Two conversion examples are provided on the following pages.
