Collegamenti RS232 per un solo strumento

Per il controllo remoto di un solo strumento, è previsto il collegamento al PC dei soli pin 2, 3 e 5 ma, al fine di assicurare il funzionamento regolare, è anche previsto il collegamento al PC tra i pin 1, 4,e 6 e i pin 7 e 8, come illustra lo schema qui sotto. I pin 7 e 8 non devono essere collegati al PC, ovvero non è richiesto l'impiego di un connettore con tutti i 9 pin collegati.

La velocità di trasmissione espressa in Baud si imposta come già descritto nella sezione Selezione dell’Indirizzo e della velocità di trasmissione; gli altri parametri sono impostati come segue:

Collegamenti per RS232 indirizzabile

Per il funzionamento con l'RS232 indirizzabile, vengono utilizzati anche i pin 7, 8 e 9 del connettore dello strumento. Utilizzando un semplice gruppo di cavi, si può formare un sistema di collegamento a ‘catena di margherite’ fra più strumenti, fino a un massimo di 32, illustrato qui di seguito:
