Using a MIDI device to play the Silent Series piano — MIDI IN

You can use your Silent Series piano as a sound source for a sequencer or personal computer — and you can play along with the MIDI performance. You can also play duets with another musician playing on an external MIDI keyboard (see the illustration on page 53).

Connect one end of a MIDI cable to the MIDI IN terminal at the back of the con- trol box, and the other end to the MIDI OUT of the external device.

The Silent Series piano receives MIDI data on channel 1. Set the Transmit Chan- nel on the external device to channel 1 (refer to the instructions for the external device).

The Silent Series piano can also be set to receive MIDI information on MIDI Chan- nels 1 and 2 (see page 55 for detail).

Start the external device playing. It will send MIDI instructions to your Silent Series piano, which will then play the resulting request.

Das Piano der “Silent”-Serieempfängt MIDI-Daten auf Kanal 1. Stellen Sie also den MIDI-Sendekanal des anderen MIDI- Instruments auf 1 (lesen Sie dazu die Anlei- tung des anderen Instruments).

Das Piano der “Silent”-Seriekann überdies so eingestellt werden, daß es auf Kanal 1 und 2 empfängt (weitere Einzelheiten, siehe Seite 55).

Spielen Sie auf dem anderen Instrument. Dieses Gerät sendet dabei MIDI-Daten an Ihr Piano der “Silent”-Serie, dessen Digital- piano dann die empfangenen Noten erzeugt.

Connecter une extrémité d’un câble MIDI à la borne MIDI IN située à l’arrière du boî- tier de commandes et l’autre extrémité à la borne MIDI OUT du dispositif externe.

Le piano de la série “Silent” reçoit les don- nées MIDI sur le canal 1. Régler le canal de transmission du dispositif externe sur le canal 1 (veuillez consulter les instructions fournies avec l’appareil externe à ce sujet).

Le piano de la série “Silent” peut également être réglé de sorte à recevoir des données sur les canaux MIDI 1 et 2 (pour en savoir plus, voir page 55).
