Remote Node Setup

Follow the procedure in Chapter 5 to fill the protocol-independent parameters in Menu 11, Remote Node Profile. For the protocol- dependent parameters, follow the ensuing instructions.

1.Route - Make sure IPX is among the protocols in the Route field.

2.Edit IP/IPX/Bridge - Press the space bar to change it to Yes and press Enter to go to the network layer options menu.

3.Rem LAN Net # - In this field, enter the internal network number of the NetWare server on the remote side LAN. Your Prestige will create a route to access this server.

4.My WAN Net # - In this field, you can enter the WAN network number of the device that you are connecting to. This number will be used for negotiation between your Prestige and the remote device. If you leave this field as 00000000, your Prestige will select the greater WAN network number between the two devices.

5.Hop Count - This field indicates the number of intermediate networks that must be passed through to reach the Remote Node. The default is one (1).
