8.If the input button for a grouped input is pressed, and then the output button for an output in a different group is pressed, the associated output LED blinks twice and goes out to indicate that output cannot be tied to the input. The associated input LED remains lit.

Example 1: Create a set of video and audio ties

See Figure 3-5 and the following steps for an example in which input 5 is tied to outputs 3, 4, and 8.

This example assumes that there are no ties in the current configuration.

APress and release the Esc button. The Esc LED flashes once.

BIf necessary to select video and audio for the tie, press and release the RGBHV and Audio buttons until the RGBHV and Audio LEDs light.

CPress and release the input 5 button. The input 5 LED lights.

DPress and release the output 3, output 4, and output 8 buttons. The output 3, output 4, and output 8 LEDs blink to indicate a tentative tie.

The entire set of ties can be aborted at this point by pressing and releasing the Esc button. The Esc LED flashes once.

EPress and release the Enter button. The input and output LEDs turn off. The current configuration is now defined as video and audio input 5 tied to video and audio output 3, output 4, and output 8.

Example 2: Add a tie to a set of video and audio ties

See figure 3-6 and the following steps for an example in which a new video tie is added to the current configuration.

APress and release the Esc button. The Esc LED flashes once.

BIf it is necessary to select video-only for the tie, press and release the RGBHV and Audio buttons until the RGBHV LED lights and the Audio LED is off.

CPress and release the input 5 button. The input 5 LED lights. If the steps in Example 1 have been completed, the output 3, output 4, and output 8 LEDs light to indicate ties created in Example 1.

DPress and release the output 1 button. The output 1 LED blinks to indicate a tentative tie.
