Press the two receptacle tabs on the top cable outward as shown at the left, and pull back gently on the cable connector to remove it
from the receptacle. Lay the front panel down in front
of the switcher.

To open the CrossPoint Plus 168 or 1616 switcher, do the following: 1. Disconnect the power cord from the switcher.

5.If you are updating the firmware, remove the two screws at the front edge of

the bottom cover, press the two receptacle tabs on the top cable outward as shown at the left, and pull back gently on the cable connector to remove it from the receptacle. Lay the front panel down in front of the switcher.

CAUTION

Do not strain the three internal cables connected to the front panel. Too much strain can be damage the cables.

CAUTION

Do not touch the components inside the switcher without being electrically grounded. Electrostatic discharge (ESD) can damage ICs, even if you cannot feel, see, or hear it.

2.Remove the ten screws that secure the switcher’s front cover as shown in figure B-2. Carefully tilt the front panel away from the main body of the switcher.
