Removing Memory Modules
WARNING: The DIMMs are hot to touch for some time after the blade has been powered down. Allow time for the DIMMs to cool before handling them. Handle the DIMMs by the card edges and avoid touching the DIMM components.

You should only perform troubleshooting and simple repairs as authorized in your product documentation, or as directed by the online or telephone service and support team. Damage due to servicing that is not authorized by Dell is not covered by your warranty. Read and follow the safety instructions that came with the product.

CAUTION: If you are permanently removing a processor, you must install a socket protective cap and a processor/DIMM blank in the vacant socket to ensure proper system cooling. The processor/DIMM blank covers the vacant sockets for the DIMMs and the processor.
1.Remove the blade from the enclosure.
2.Open the blade.
3.Remove the cooling shroud.
4.If applicable, remove the following:
a.
b.mezzanine card(s)
c.system board
5.If required, lift the latch on the mezzanine card support bracket to the open position.
6.Locate the memory module socket(s).
CAUTION: Handle each memory module only by the card edges, making sure not to touch the middle of the memory module or gold contacts.
7.Press down and out on the ejectors on each end of the socket until the memory module pops out of the socket.
