8.1.2 Timer recordings
You can record programmes on the integrated hard drive in your absence, using the hard drive timers. In addition, your receiver is equipped with video recorder timers and channel- switching timers. In terms of their programming, these timer types differ only in name.
You can programme the timers manually as described in this chapter, or using the SFI function as described under Point 7.15.7.2.
1. Hard drive timer
This function will switch the digital receiver on and off, allo- wing you to make recordings on the hard drive in your absen- ce.
If the receiver is switched on by the hard drive timer, this will
be indicated in the display by the message “lPVR Timer”. Some of the functions of the remote control (e.g. calling up the main menu) will be deactivated. In
2. Video recorder timer
If the video recorder timer is selected, your digital receiver will be switched on and off for the selected programme, allo- wing you to make recordings in your absence on an external recording unit, e.g. a video cassette recorder. Please note that you must programme your video recorder accordingly to record the programme.
If the receiver is switched on by the video recorder timer, this
will be indicated by the message “lVCR Timer” in the display. Some functions of the remote control (e.g. calling up the main menu) will be deactivated. In
3. Channel-switching timer
If your receiver is in normal operating mode, it will switch to the programmed channel slot at the set time.
In contrast to the hard drive or video recorder timer options, the receiver and remote control remain fully functional, and will not be switched off at the end of the programme.
