Auto Tuning (Channel Search)

Auto Tuning (Channel Search)

Auto Tuning automatically finds and stores all digital and analog channels available through antenna or cable inputs.

1.Press MENU on the Installer Remote, and use the arrow navigation keys to select/highlight the CHANNEL menu option. Then, press ENTER.

2.Use the Up/Down arrows to select Auto Tuning, and then press ENTER.

3.In the Auto Tuning pop-up window, use the Up/Down arrows to select Yes, and then press ENTER to initiate the channel search.

4.The STB1000 will search for digital channels first. After the digital channel search is completed, the STB will search for analog channels as well.

Select Next(Analog), if desired, to bypass the digital channel search and initiate the search for analog channels.

A progress bar shows the percentage complete of the channel search, and DIGITAL and ANALOG fields track the number of channels found.

5.When Auto Tuning is complete, select Close and press ENTER to close the pop-up window and return to the Chan- nel Menu.

6.Press MENU to return to TV viewing, or press RETURN to return to the previous menu level.

Notes:

A password is required to gain access to Auto Tuning if the Lock System is turned ON.

The Tuning Band must be set in the Installer Menu before the channel search is initiated. The default Tuning Band is CATV (Installer Menu item 003 BAND/ AFC is set to 1). Update the setting, as necessary (see the “Installer Menu” section of this document for further information).

If this is the first time the STB/display has been turned ON, a “Press Enter () to set your channel settings” message will be displayed at the bottom of the screen. Press ENTER to initiate Auto Tuning, if desired, from this message.

Running Auto Tuning automatically removes any assigned/existing channel labels.

Cable will not work unless you subscribe to a cable service.
