Picture Mode

Picture Mode

This feature enables you to select a preconfigured Picture Mode option and/or customize picture settings manually.

1.Press MENU on the Installer Remote, and use the arrow navigation keys to select/highlight the PICTURE menu option. Then, press ENTER.

2.To select a preconfigured Picture Mode option:

Use the Up/Down arrows to select Picture Mode, and then press ENTER.

Use the Up/Down arrows to select the appropriate option (see descriptions below) from the Picture Mode pop-up window, and then press ENTER.

3.To manually adjust individual Picture Mode settings (Contrast, Sharpness, etc.):

Use the Up/Down arrows to select the setting to adjust (see descriptions below), and then press ENTER.

A pop-up window will appear at the bottom of the display screen. Use the Left/Right arrows to make the appropriate adjustment to the selected picture setting, and/or use the Up/Down arrows to navigate between settings.

When you have completed all necessary adjustments, press ENTER to close the pop-up window.

4.Press MENU to return to TV viewing, or press RETURN to return to the previous menu level.

Preconfigured Picture Mode Options

Intelligent Sensor: Enables the STB to adjust to the most suitable, optimal picture settings based on sur- rounding conditions. If selected, all manual picture adjustment options, with the exceptions of Advanced Control and Picture Reset, will be disabled.

Vivid: Maximizes contrast, brightness, color, and sharpness for a vivid picture.

Standard: Provides an optimum viewing condition for general users.

Natural: Maximizes natural screen tones.

Cinema: Optimizes video for movie viewing.

Sport: Emphasizes dynamic video and primary colors (e.g., white, grass, sky blue, etc.) to optimize sport viewing.

Game: Maximizes response speed in a fast gaming screen.

Notes:

Most manual options are disabled (grayed out) if the Picture Mode is set to Intelligent Sensor—see description.

The Backlight option is not applicable for the STB1000.

Adjustable Picture Mode Options

Contrast: Increases or decreases the gradient of the video signal. Adjust Contrast when the bright part of the picture is saturated.

Brightness: Increases or decreases the base level of the signal in the picture. Adjust Brightness when the dark part of the picture is saturated.

Sharpness: Adjusts the level of crispness in the edges between the light and dark areas of the pic- ture. The lower the level, the softer the image.

Color: Adjusts the intensity of all colors.

Tint: Adjusts the balance between red and green levels.
