5 / Paging and Messaging
2. Messaging
You can send a “Call Me” message to another extension when you get no answer or the line is busy. A Call Me message leaves a “message waiting” indi- cation for the called party indicating that you were trying to reach them. Keysets without display and single line telephones with message waiting lamps can only receive Call Me messages.
In order to receive messages you will need to program one of the dual function feature keys as a “Message Waiting” key. The associated LED will light if you have a message waiting.
To extinguish the message waiting indication (lamp or stutter dial tone), the reply call must be answered. If the call goes unanswered, the message waiting indication continues.
For instructions on how to program a dual function feature key, see page 59. The feature code is Function key, dial 96.
There are two ways to leave a call me message. The first is for leaving a mes- sage at a busy or unattended extension. Use the second method to leave a mes- sage at another extension without calling that extension.
