For the ideal weight loss range, your heart rate should be between 55% and 70% of your maximum aerobic heart rate. If you wear the chest strap or grasp both touch-sensitive grips, you can use SmartRate as a visual cue.

Set a comfortable pedaling speed (RPM) and then adjust the resistance.

Maintain a level of exertion so that the first yellow LED blinks in the SmartRate display during rest intervals.

During the work intervals, increase your level of exertion so that the first green LED blinks.

For more information about the SmartRate display, refer to Using SmartRate.

A club has the option to create a profile customized for its patrons. The Custom Resistance Program provides variable preprogrammed resistances. Similar to other programs on the cycle that have preprogrammed resistance, you can override the settings using the RESISTANCE arrow keys. The changes are applied to the remaining profile.

To learn how to create this custom program, refer to the Product Owner’s Manual.
