BEFORE CALLING FOR SERVICE (cont.)

Door will not unlock when cycle is stopped or paused

Check if...

Then...

Interior temperature of washer is too high.

The washer door has a safety feature to prevent burns.

 

For example, if the washer is paused during the hot wash portion of

 

a SANITIZE cycle, the interior temperature of the drum wilt be very

 

hot, so the door will not unlock. This is normal. Allow the washer to

 

coot until the DOOR LOCK indicator turns OFF on the display.

Water level in washer is too high.

Wash cycle time is longer than usual

Check if...

amount of laundry, water pressure, water heating time and

Ihe washer automatically adjusts the washtime for the other operating conditions.

Musty or mildewy odor in washer

Check if...

Incorrect or too much detergent has been used.

Inside of tub not cleaned properly.

To drain the water, cycle the POWER OFF/ON, then press the SPIN SPEED button without selecting a cycle.

Then...

This is normal. The washer adjusts cycle time automatically to provide optimal results for the selected cycle. The time remaining shown in the display is only an estimate. Actual time may vary.

Then,,,

Use only HE (High-Efficiency) detergent in accordance with the manufacturer'sinstructions.

Run the CLEAN WASHER cycle regularly. Be sure to wipe around and under the door seat frequently. See Care and Cleaning of the Interior in Care and Cleaning on page 22.

Clean around door seat/glass to prevent odor or mildew:

1.Wipe dry the door seal/glass and the door opening area.

2.Wipe around the inner drum/door seal and the lower door seal.

3.For difficult-to-remove odors, use Affresh available at your local Sears store or online at www.partsdirect.com.

Washer not unloaded promptly.

Always remove items from the washer as soon as the cycle is

 

complete.

Washer overloaded.

The washer can be fully loaded but the drum should not be tightly

 

packed, and the door should close easily.

Hot and cold water inlet hoses are reversed.

Hot water rinse can set wrinkles in garments. Check the inlet hose connections.
