STEAM CYCLES AND OPTIONS

ADD STEAM Option

STEAM cycles include the Steam Refresh, Normal/Casual, Bulky/Bedding, Kids Wear,

Heavy Duty, Rugged and Whitest Whites. Adding steam to these cycles provides improved cleaning performance while

reducing energy and water consumption.

By using a hot steam spray and cooler water, fabrics get the cleaning benefits of a super hot wash, without the energy usage or potential damage to fabrics.

To ADD STEAM to a cycle:

1Turn ON the washer and turn the cycle selector knob to select a cycle that allows the steam option.

2Press the ADD STEAM button. The washer will automatically adjust the cycle settings.

3Set any other desired options.

4Press the START/PAUSE button to start the cycle.

CAUTION:

The door may be very warm during steam cycles. This is normal.

Do not attempt to override the door lock mechanism or reach into the washer during a steam cycle. Steam can cause severe burns.

IMPORTANT NOTES ABOUT STEAM CYCLES:

Steam may not be visible during the steam cycles. This is normal.

Do not use steam with delicate fabrics such as wool, silk, or easily discolored fabrics.

HOW TO USE

Using the STEAM REFRESH Cycle

STEAM REFRESH uses the power of steam alone to help reduce wrinkles and odor in fabrics. Use it to reduce wrinkles in clothes that have been stored for an extended period of time or that have been left in the drum for too long; and reduce odor in clothes that have been worn in a smoky area. Steam also makes ironing easier.

To use the STEAM REFRESH cycle:

1Load up to five garments and close the door.

2Turn ON the washer and turn the cycle selector knob to select the STEAM REFRESH cycle. The number three (default setting) will appear in the display to indicate three garments.

3Press the ADD STEAM button until the display number matches the number of garments loaded.

NOTE: If there is any moisture inside the drum

from a previous wash cycle, wipe the drum dry with a towel before adding clothing. No other options need to be selected.

4Press the START/PAUSE button to start the cycle.

After the STEAM REFRESH cycle is complete, the washer will tumble the clothes for up to 30 minutes to prevent clothes from becoming wrinkled again.

The clothing may feel slightly damp after removing from the STEAM REFRESH cycle. If desired, hang clothes on a hanger for a few minutes before wearing.

The STEAM REFRESH cycle is not recommended for use with 100% cotton clothing. Best results are achieved with 70/30 cotton/polyblend fabrics.

Remove stains from clothing before using the STEAM REFRESH cycle; the high heat could cause stains to set in permanently.

Do not use STEAM REFRESH with the following Items: wool, blankets, leather jackets, silk, wet clothes, lingerie, foam products, or electric blankets.

Best results are achieved when articles are of similar size and fabric type. Do not overload the washer.
