ARMS

Section 4 - Arms includes the following:

Adjusting Armrest Height Swing-Back Arms

Replacing Desk/Full Length Armrest Pad and or Clothing Guards (Fixed Height Arms Only) Removing or Replacing Armrest

Converting From Space Saver to Conventional Arms or Conventional to Space Saver Arms (9000 XT/XDT Wheelchairs)

WARNING

After ANY adjustments, repair or service and BEFORE use, make sure all attach- ing hardware is tightened securely - otherwise injury or damage may occur.

ADJUSTING ARMREST HEIGHT (FIGURE 1)

WARNING

Make sure the height adjustment lever is in the locked position be- fore using the wheelchair.

1.Unlock the armrest by flipping the height adjustment lever on the top front of the armrest to the UP (HORI- ZONTAL) position.

2.Adjust armrest to one (1) of five (5) positions.

NOTE: Height adjustment lever MUST be in

the unlocked position when placing armrest into

the arm assembly.

 

3.Lock the armrest by pressing the height adjustment lever into the DOWN (VERTI- CAL) position when the desired armrest height is achieved.

4.Repeat STEPS 1-3 for other armrest.

SWING-BACK ARMS (FIGURE 2)

NOTE: This procedure applies to 9000SL, 9000XT, and 9000XDT wheelchairs ONLY.

WARNING

Make sure the armrest release lever is in the locked position before using the wheelchair.

1.Unlock the swing-back arms by rotating the armrest release lever towards the outside of the wheelchair.

2.Pull the front of the swing-back arm straight up/out of the arm socket and towards the rear of the wheelchair.

3.To use the swing-back arm, push the swing-back arm towards the front of the wheelchair and then downward into the arm socket.
