REAR WHEELS

 

 

REPLACING REAR WHEEL HANDRIM (FIGURE 2)

WHEELSREAR

WARNING

If the wheelchair is equipped with permanent axles, this procedure MUST be performed by a qualified technician.

1.Remove the rear wheel from the wheelchair. For non-recliner models, refer to REMOVING/INSTALLING THE REAR WHEELS in this section of the manual. For 9000XT Recliner, refer to

REMOVING/INSTALLING THE REAR WHEELS in SECTION 9 of this manual.

2.Remove the mounting screws that secure the handrim to the rear wheel.

3.Remove the existing handrim.

4.Install the NEW handrim by reversing the above procedures.

WARNING

Make sure detent pin and locking pins of the quick-release axles are fully released BEFORE operating the wheelchair .

5.Reinstall rear wheel to the wheelchair. Refer to REMOVING/INSTALLING THE REAR WHEELS in this section of the manual.

6.If the locking pins of the quick-release axles (if applicable) are not protruding past the inside of the axle bushing or there is too much movement of the rear wheel assembly in a back and forth position, refer to ADJUSTING THE QUICK-RELEASE AXLE in this section of the manual.

7.Repeat the procedure for the opposite rear wheel if necessary.

REPLACING/REPAIRING REAR WHEEL TIRE/TUBE

WARNING

Replacement of rear wheel tire or tube MUST be performed by a quali- fied technician.
