WARNING

After adjustments and before use, make sure all attaching hardware is securely tightened.

REPLACING SEAT UPHOLSTERY (FIGURE 1)

NOTE: The following procedure is for standard fold- ing frames only.

1.Remove the phillips screws that secure the existing seat upholstery to the crossbraces.

2.Remove the existing seat upholstery from the crossbraces.

3.Install the new seat upholstery by reversing STEPS 1-2.

CHANGING/REPOSITIONING SEAT RAILS (FIGURE 2)

NOTE: The following procedure is for standard fold- ing frames only.

WARNING

The seat height, seat depth, back angle, seating sys- tem, size and position of the rear wheels, as well as the user condition directly relate to the stability of the wheelchair. Any change to one (1) or any combi- nation of the seven (7) may cause the wheelchair to decrease in stability. These adjustments MUST be performed by an authorized dealer or qualified tech- nician.

1.Determine if new seat rails are needed or if the exist- ing seat rails need to be repositioned for the desired seat depth of the wheelchair. Refer to CHANGING SEAT DEPTH in PROCEDURE 10 of this manual.

2.Remove the seat upholstery from the wheelchair. Refer to REPLACING THE SEAT UPHOLSTERY in this section of the manual.

NOTE: If adjusting the seat width of the wheelchair, the back and seat upholstery MUST be changed as well.

3.Remove the rear wheels from the wheelchair. Refer to REMOVING/INSTALLING REAR WHEELS in PROCEDURE 6 of this manual.

4.Unfold the wheelchair and lay wheelchair on its side. If necessary, refer to the SAFETY/HANDLING sec- tion of this manual.

5.Remove the four (4) hex screws and coved washers that secure the existing seat rails to the crossbraces.

6.Install the new or reposition the existing seat rails to the position determined in STEP 1.

7.Secure the new/existing seat rails to the crossbraces with the existing coved washers and hex screws.

8.Install the new seat upholstery. Refer to REPLAC- ING THE SEAT UPHOLSTERY in this section of the manual.

9.Reposition the back if necessary. Refer to REPOSI- TIONING THE BACK in PROCEDURE 3 of this manual.

10.Reinstall the rear wheels onto the wheelchair. Refer to REMOVING/INSTALLING REAR WHEELS in PROCEDURE 6 of this manual.

NOTE: If the wheelchair has become less stable after repositioning the seat rails to the desired seat depth, reposition the rear wheels. Refer to ADJUSTING THE WHEELBASE LENGTH in PRO- CEDURE 6 of this manual.
