3. PLACING OUTSIDE CALLS
Your digital phone, in conjunction with the DBS 576 and DBS 576HD, provides the following ways for you to place outside calls:
•Accessing an Outside Line (page 49)
•Using Account Codes (page 50)
•Redialing Outside Numbers (page 51)
•Using Speed Dialing (page 52)
ACCESSING AN OUTSIDE LINE
You can place outside calls using the following features or under the following conditions:
•Outside line access group code
•Flexible Function (FF) keys
•Open line call back
To make an outside call using an outside line access code
1.Pick up the handset or press the ON/OFF key.

Notes:
•If all outside lines in the group are busy, you will hear a busy tone.
•If the system is set up for Automatic Route Selection (ARS), dialing 9 automatically routes your call to a selected outside line.
To make an outside call using an FF key
1.Pick up the handset or press the ON/OFF key.
2.Press an FF key that is dedicated to an outside line or to a group of outside lines.
3.Dial the phone number.
