W1772/W1773 37" Drum Sander

OPERATIONS

Control Panel

Below is a summary of your sander control panel and the components that it controls. Use the list with Figure 23 to become familiar with your sander.

A.Sanding Drums Start Button: Starts the sanding drums.

B.Conveyor Start Button: Starts the conveyor belt.

C.Amp Draw Meter: Indicates the combined amperage draw of both motors, to help control the load so as not to damage the motor.

D.Emergency Stop Button: Stops all electrical power to motors in event of emergency.

E.Conveyor Stop Button: Stops the conveyor belt.

F.Sanding Drums Stop Button: Stops the sanding drums.

General

The Model W1772/W1773 will perform many types of oper- ations that are beyond the scope of this manual. Many of these operations can be dangerous or deadly if performed incorrectly.

The instructions in this section are written with the under- standing that the operator has the necessary knowledge and skills to operate this machine. If at any time you are experiencing difficulties performing any operation, stop using the machine!

If you are an inexperienced operator, we strongly recom- mend that you read books, trade articles, or seek training from an experienced Drum Sander operator before per- forming any unfamiliar operations. Above all, your safety should come first!

OFF

DO NOT investigate problems or adjust the machine while it is running. Wait until the machine is turned OFF, unplugged and all working parts have come to a complete stop before proceeding!

Always wear safety glasses and a respirator when operating this machine. Failure to comply may result in serious personal injury, allergic reactions, or respiratory problems.
