Configuration of the communication interruption

Configure the Modbus time out

A communication detected fault (Err5 and Err8) is triggered if the Altivar 212 does not receive any valid Modbus requests at its address within a predefined time period (time out) set in the [Com. time out] (F803) parameter. The timer starts when the communication has been established for the first time (valid frame, drive address matches). Any Modbus request function is taken into account to reactivated the timer (read, write and identification).

Access to the parameter

This parameter is accessible in the [COMMUNICATION MENU] COM submenu of [PROGRAMMING MENU] Programming mode.

WARNING

LOSS OF CONTROL

If F803 is set to 0, communication control will be inhibited.

For safety reasons, inhibiting the communication interruption detection should be restricted to the debug

phase or to special applications.

Failure to follow these instructions can result in death, serious injury, or equipment damage.

Monitoring the Modbus communication status

Modbus communication status are displayed in Monitoring mode. This parameter enables to check the modbus communication on RJ45 and OpenStyle port.
