6-2 CHAPTER 6: USING THE COMMANDLINE INTERFACE
Accessing the CLI By default, the hub automatically config ures the baud rate of its
console port to operate with the connec ted management station or
terminal, provided the parity, stop bits and character size are identical
to the connected management station or terminal. You may need to
perform the wake-up procedure to initiate the communication. To do
this, press [Return] several times at the managem ent station or
terminal.
The login sequence for the CLI begins as soon as the hub detects a
connection to its console port, or as soon as a Telnet session is started.
Initial Access The login prompt Login: is displayed.
As the initial us er, enter the default user nam e admin and press
[Return] at the Password: prompt. The first time you access the CLI,
the password is null.
We recommend that when you have accessed the stack, you change
the default passwords for the user levels (if y ou have not already done
so) by logging in as the different user level s.
Logging On At subsequent logins, enter your user name. If the user name is valid,
the Password: prompt appears. You must enter your password
correctly before you can continue with your m anagement session.
If you have logged on correctly, the initial menu appears. If you have
not logged on correctly, the message Incorrect password appears
and the login sequence starts again.
