System Security

The System Security sub-menu allows you to safeguard your computer and data with passwords and other security measures.

The following table describes the parameters in this screen. Settings in boldface are the default and suggested parameter settings.

Parameter	Description	Options
Setup Password	When set, this password protects the computer and	Disabled or
	this BIOS Utility from unauthorized entry. See the	Enabled
	following section for instructions on how to set a
	password.
Power-on	When set, this password protects the computer	Disabled or
Password	from unauthorized entry. See the following	Enabled
	section for instructions on how to set a password.
Hard Disk	When set, this password protects the hard disk	Disabled or
Password	from unauthorized access. See the following	Enabled
	section for instructions on how to set a password.
Processor Serial	The Pentium III processor includes a unqiue serial	Enabled or
Number	number which allows individual CPUs to be	Disabled
	identified. You can turn off this feature by setting
	this parameter to Disabled.
