SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol)

Simple Network Management Protocol (SNMP) can be used to monitor devices connected to a network for any conditions which warrant administration attention. By default, SNMP uses port 161, however most Internet providers (including cellu- lar) block all ports below 1024 as a security measure.
