Routine Cleaning

The parts of each print station, especially those that come in direct contact with the ribbon, will accumulate residue. To maintain clear and crisp printing, these parts should be cleaned frequently. The printheads in particular require regular cleaning. QuickLabel Systems recommend that these surfaces be cleaned when changing a roll of media or ribbon.

The illustration below indicates the locations for regular cleaning. It is recommended that these surfaces be cleaned with a soft cloth or lint-free wipe soaked with Isopropyl Alcohol. Harsh chemicals and solvents should be avoided as damage to the printhead could occur.

Caution

Always power off and unplug the printer before cleaning the printheads. Never use a hard object of any sort to clean the printheads. Damage will result if the edge of any hard object is used to scrape away accumulated printing residue from the printhead.
