Pinch Roller Replacement

Turn the printer off and unplug the AC power cord. Lift the printer’s side cover.

Remove the right side cover and control panel of the printer.

Remove any media that may be exiting over the drive roll.

Flip the drive roll cam up to relieve pressure on the roll.

Before removing the pinch roller assembly, the pressure must be taken off of this location. There are two screws along the bottom and two screws at the main plate. Dislodge the drive station gas spring. Grip a pair of adjustable pliers onto the top of the gas spring. Push down and away from the main plate to separate it from the ball joint on the main plate.

Remove the collar directly above the pinch roller with a 1/8” Allen wrench.

Slide the pinch roller assembly off of the middle shaft.

Remove the two Phillips screws on each end of the roller. The roller will drop down.

Position the new roller in place. Add a cup washer between roller ends and bracket. The cups of the washers must face away from the bearings on each roller end. Secure the roller using the two Phillips screws.

Slide the roller assembly back over the middle shaft. The ball end of the set screws must face toward the front of the printer.

Lock the collar against the roller assembly.

Press the top of the gas spring back over the ball joint on the main plate.

Reinstall the control panel and rear cover of the printer.
