About location access, re porting, & histor y
Location access settings d etermine whethe r your tablet can use
your current location. When location access is turned on, apps
can use it to give you more releva nt information, su ch as nearby
restaurants or commute tr afc.
To turn off location access fo r all apps, go to Settings > Personal
> Location access. if you prefer, you can turn off loca tion access
by Google apps while still p ermitting its use b y non-Google a pps
– just go to Settings > Accoun ts > Google > Locati on settings.
Location Reporting refers your tablet’s ability to re port your cur-
rent location for the pur pose of recordin g your Location His tory.
Location History refers to you r tablet’s ability to s tore your past
locations, includi ng home and work.
When you decide to use Googl e Now, you’ll start repo rting your
location and turn on your L ocation History. Googl e won’t share
this information with oth er users or marketers without your
permission.
if you opted in to Location Histo ry in the past, Goog le Now uses
your previously record ed locations as well as on going locations
when making suggesti ons. Turning off Locatio n History pauses
the collection of locati on informatio n, but doesn’ t delete your his -
tory. To manage or delete your loca tion details, v isit google.com/
locationhistory.
Along with Location His tory, Google Now use s your tablet’s loc a-
tion access service , which must al so be turned on fo r Google Now
to work. To manage this setting , go to Settings > Personal >
Location access.
