setting WPa/WPa2 Encry ption
Like WPA security, WPA2 is availa ble in both WPA2-Per sonal (PSK) mo de and WPA2-Enterpri se (RADIUS) mode � Typically, WPA2-Personal (PSK) is
the mode that will be us ed in a home envir onment, while WPA2-E nterprise (RAD IUS) is implemented in a business e nvironment where a n external
radius server distrib utes the network key to the clients au tomatically� Your Router s upports WPA2-Pers onal (PSK)�
IMPoRTanT: Make sure your wireless computer s are updated to wo rk
with WPA2 and have the cor rect settings to get proper conn ection to
the Router�
1� After you’ve set up your Ro uter, go to the “Secur ity” under
“Wireless” and selec t “WPA/WPA2-Pers onal (PSK)” from the
“Security Mode” drop -down menu (1)
2� For “Authentication”, select “WPA-PSK ”, “WPA2-PSK”, or “WPA-
PSK + WPA2-PSK” (2)� This set ting will have to be i dentical on the
wireless clients that you set up� “WPA-PSK + WPA2-PSK” mode
will allow the Router to su pport clients running either WPA o r
WPA2 security�
3� Enter your pre-shared key ( PSK) (3)� This can b e from eight to 63
characters and can b e letters, numbe rs, or symbols� This same
key must be used on all of the wireless c lients that you set up� For
example, your PSK might b e something like: “Sm ith family networ k
key”� Click “Apply Changes” (4) to finish� You must now se t all
wireless clients to mat ch these setting s�
