When using the digital carriage for the first time, it is normally

required to slide the fence against the blade (with the digital

carriage attached) in order to “zero out” the display – thereafter,

any movement of the fence away from the blade will be shown

on the carriage display.

To “Zero Out”:

1)Connect fence to digital carriage

2)Lift fence lock handle

3)Lift up the plastic side blade guard until it ‘clicks’ into it’s up position – then lift and hold up the pawl of the anti-kickback device (careful – teeth are sharp!)

4)Slide fence (with carriage) until it contacts the raised saw blade, then lock down the fence handle

5)Press RESET button until the “0” setting is shown

6)Unlock fence handle - move fence away from blade, and lower pawl and side blade guard.

SIDE OF BLADE

PAWL “UP”

SIDE BLADE GUARD “UP”

Stop fence movement when the desired setting is displayed – always push down fence lock handle before starting cut.

Note 1: For accuracy, the carriage needs to separately “zero out” for each side of the blade – If the carriage is set for rip cuts to the right of the blade, and the user switches to make rip cuts to the left of the blade, the “zero out” procedure will have to be done again.

Note 2: The digital carriage can be reset to zero at any position of the fence – this may be useful when adding or subtracting from a preset position.

Example: (display set in the 1/32 INCH mode). If the fence and digital carriage is moved to where it shows 6-3/32 inches (or any positive value) and the user wishes to move the fence from that spot to be 3/4 inch less – the user can “zero out” the display so that it shows 0/32 inches and then move the fence to the left until the display shows “- 3/4 INCH”; or if the user wishes move the fence to be 3/4 inch more, the user can “zero out” the display so it shows 0/32 and move the fence to the right until the display shows “3/4 INCH”. However, for the next new setting, the user will have to RESET and “zero out” (against the blade).

Display Changes – Right of ”0”

The display numbers will go up when moving the carriage to the right of the”0”.

Display Changes – Left of ”0”

The display numbers will go up (and the minus sign “-“ will appear) when moving the carriage to the left of the ”0”.
