Operating the answering machine from the handset and from an outside phone.

You can operate your answering machine from any registered handset and any other external

TouchtoneTM phone.

Press the INT button

Press the 9 button. The voice announces the current mode of operation, the number of messages on the memory and, if applicable, the day and time.

If another handset is making an external call you cannot access the answering machine from your handset.

New message indicator

If you have an Executive Handset or Pocket Phone, new messages

are indicated by the icon displayed on the screen.

Press the OPTION button beneath

the symbol to listen to your messages via the handset.

Please Note. You must change the system code (page 16) before Remote Access may be used.

Please note. Once you have entered the system code correctly, you are ready to operate your answering machine.

If you do not operate the machine for 160 seconds, the voice says, ‘Please confirm’. You then have a further 8 seconds before the machine disconnects your call.

Dial your Diverse 2016 phone number.

When the Diverse 2016 takes your call, enter the system code

(this must be different from the default setting of 0000. See page 16 on how to change your system code). You hear a beep and the voice announces the current operating mode, the number of messages stored and, if applicable, the time and day.
