Appendix Replacing the Chassis Cover
Step 5 If you installed a different type o f p ower s upply (AC or DC) than was origin all y in s tal le d i n th e
universal gateway, place one of the power ratin gs l ab el s th at ca me in the plastic bag with th e
documentation directly over the p ow er r ati ng s i nf o rm ati on on the rear panel. For exampl e, if the
original chassis cam e with an AC power supply a nd y ou replaced it with a D C power supply, place the
DC power ratings label over t he ra tings stamped on the rear pa nel of the chassis. This wi ll ensure that
the correct power ratings information appears on the rear panel. (See FigureB-15 and FigureB-16.)
Step 6 Reinstall the chassis on a rack, desktop, or table.
Step 7 Reinstall all interface cabl es .
Step 8 Reconnect the AC power cord. Or, if you are using a DC-powered unit, refer to FigureB-17 or
Figure B-18, and complete the ste ps appropriate for each power supply.
Warning
The illustration shows the DC power supply terminal block. Wire the DC power supply using the
appropriate wire terminations at the wiring end, as illustrated. The proper wiring sequence is ground
to ground, return to return, and negative to negative. Note that the ground wire should always be
connected first and disconnected last. To see translations of the warnings that appear in this
