Parts and Tools Required

You need the following tools and parts to install a port adapter. If you need additional equipment, contact a service representative for ordering information.

•PA-T3 serial port adapter and one of the following:

—VIP2-15(=), VIP2-20=, VIP2-40(=), or VIP2-50(=) motherboard

—Catalyst RSM/VIP2-15(=) or Catalyst RSM/VIP2-40(=) motherboard

—Cisco 7100 series router with at least one available port adapter slot

—Cisco 7200 series router with at least one available port adapter slot

—Cisco uBR7200 series router with at least one available port adapter slot

•75-ohm coaxial serial interface cables

•Number 1 Phillips screwdriver and a 3/16-inch flat-blade screwdriver

•Your own ESD-prevention equipment or the disposable grounding wrist strap included with all upgrade kits, field-replaceable units (FRUs), and spares
