Removing the Front I/O Panel

CAUTION: Before you begin any of the procedures in this section, follow the safety instructions in the Product Information Guide.

1Follow the procedures in "Before You Begin" on page 99.

2Remove the computer cover (see "Removing the Computer Cover" on page 101).

NOTICE: Carefully note the routing of each cable before you disconnect it, so that you are sure to re-route cables correctly. An incorrectly routed or a disconnected cable could lead to computer problems.

3Remove the front plastic bezel. The bezel has two screws on the bottom of the chassis which need to be removed. There are also six snap features that secure the bezel to the front metal wall that must be removed.

4Remove the processor airflow shroud (see "Removing the Processor Airflow Shroud Assembly" on page 148).

5Remove the Processor fan assembly (see"Removing the Processor Fan Cage" on page 149 and "Removing the Processor Fan" on page 151) and the card fan (see"Removing the Card Fan" on page 152).

6Disconnect the control-panel cable from the I/O panel connector by pulling the cable loop.

7Disconnect the power panel cable, 1394 cable, and audio cable (if it exists) so that the entire front I/O panel is free from all cables.
