Surround

This unit is equipped with a digital signal processing circuit that lets you play program sources in the surround mode to achieve the same sense of presence as in a movie theater.

Surround modes and surround parameters

This table shows the speakers that can be used in each surround mode and the surround parameters adjustable in each surround mode.

z3 If “Surr.Parameter” – “PLgz Height” (vpage 80) is set to “ON”, sound is output from the front height speakers. z4 Only when “Subwoofer Mode” is set to “LFE+Main” (vpage 87), sound is output from the subwoofer.

z5 If this surround mode is selected, only the “Height” mode setting is available for “Surr.Parameter” – “Mode” (vpage 79). z6 This item cannot be set when “Surr.Parameter” – “S.Back” (vpage 80) is set to “PLgx Music”.

z7 This item can be selected when “Surr.Parameter” – “Mode” (vpage 79) is set to “Cinema” or “Pro Logic”. z8 This item can be selected when “Surr.Parameter” – “Mode” (vpage 79) is set to “Cinema”.

z9 This item can be selected when a Dolby TrueHD signal is played.

z10 This item can be selected when a Dolby Digital or DTS signal is played.

z11 This item can be selected when a Dolby Digital or DTS signal or DVD-Audio is played.
